A new addition to the program is our Family Day privilege. After completing 60 days in the ministry a student becomes eligible for a Family Day visit. We at A Better Way realize the importance for healthy connections to family and friends. So, we designated a special time on the first Sunday of each month for fellowship that just can’t be captured over the phone. Family day offers a father a time with children he thought was lost, that homecooked meal from mama he’d long forgotten, and precious memories with Grandparents that last a lifetime. Its hope confirmed, relationships restored, and love shared. Its Family Day!
● Welcome! Family Day takes place on the first Sunday of each month. With the exception for special events and Holidays. Students and families will be notified in advanced of changes.
● Visitation is divided into 2 groups based on the student’s last name. Visitation for A-J is 1:00-3:15 pm and 3:30-5:45pm for K-Z. Please note families will need to begin saying their goodbyes and heading to their vehicles 15 minutes early to ensure prompt departure by 3:15pm and 5:45pm.
● Please do not arrive early. Visitation begins sharply at designated time.
● You are welcome to bring approved items such as favorite meals, deserts, drinks, shoes, clothing and hygiene products for the student you are visiting.
● All donations, personal items, or gifts will be thoroughly inspected by the staff member on duty. Students are prohibited to leave the student center with the items brought by the families. All items will be distributed to the houses by those in charge. NOT THE STUDENT.
● The designated visiting areas during visitation are the student center chapel main floor, student center porch, outside the student center at the picnic tables, or by the pavilion and children’s playground. Areas prohibited are the Gym/Rec area downstairs student center, upstairs student center balcony, the houses, the basketball/pickleball/volleyball court and swimming pool.
● No pets are allowed at any time.
● Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco are strictly prohibited on campus during visitation. If visitors arrive and appear to be intoxicated or high, the visit will be terminated and you will be required to leave the premises immediately.
● A Better Way Ministries is an all-male ministry, therefore, we respectfully ask and appreciate all visitors to dress modestly and appropriately. There is Zero tolerance for any inappropriate physical contact between a student and visitor, such behavior could be grounds for immediate termination of his visit.
● Students are strictly prohibited from visiting with other families, entering any vehicles, leaving the property, using cell phones or any other electronic devices during visitation.
● It’s the student’s responsibility to clean up the area they used during family day visit.
●Each student is allowed up to 6 adult guests, and 3 children. If the student has more children, then the number of adults will be reduced in kind. (i.e. 5 kids, 4 adult. 8 kids, 1 adults. etc.)
● If your visitation group is A-J, it’s very important to begin exiting all visiting areas and saying your goodbyes by 3:00PM. It’s Mandatory that all vehicles have exited the property by 3:15PM
● If your visitation group is K-Z, it’s very important to begin exiting all visiting areas and saying your goodbyes by 5:30PM. It’s Mandatory that all vehicles have exited the property by 5:45PM.
●Special considerations for the following two holidays.
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
12:00pm-5:00pm
